Tours depart at 12:00 noon daily, year-round*, leaving from Spring Street Landing in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island, next to the Washington State Ferry Terminal. (*weather permitting)

Please Note!  Please check in at our boat, “Tokitae,” by 11:30 a.m. for our safety briefing and boarding. Don’t be late — we will have to leave without you to keep our schedule.


Adults: $99 per person, plus tax

Children ages 2 – 12: $79 per person, plus tax

Under 2 on mom or dad’s lap are free

Location of Boat

Our boat, “Tokitae,” is located on the Spring Street Landing dock adjacent to the Washington State Ferry Terminal. At the waterfront, just look for the building with a green roof and big clock at the dock’s end. Our boat is moored along the left side. Take the ramp down to the boats. “Tokitae,” is aluminum, displays our Black Fish logo, and seats 12 passengers, inside and outside.

Please check in at the boat at 11:30 a.m.  Please check in at our boat, “Tokitae,” at Spring Street Landing, not our office.

Length of Tour

Orca whale & wildlife tours are approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours long, depending on the location of the whales.


We accept cash, checks or credit cards  (Note: A credit card is needed for reservations.)

Refunds & Cancellations

Full refunds will be made with 48-hour notice.
No-shows will be charged 100%

(Please note that we live and work on an island, which is only accessible via Washington State Ferries, seasonal passenger ferries, airplanes, water taxis and pleasure boats. It is the customer’s responsibility to get to their designated tour on time. No shows (if you miss your ferry or flight, etc.) will be charged 100%. This is because it will be too late for us to re-sell your seats. Please note that Washington State Ferry schedules change seasonally and you can make a reservation at If driving a car on the ferry, you must arrive at the tollbooth at least 30 minutes prior to your sailing time; we recommend being there 45-60 minutes in advance, especially from May-SeptemberThe ferry terminal is a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Seattle, depending on traffic.)


Parking is available on First Street.  Go west on First Street and the 2-hour parking will change to 8-hour parking 2 blocks up.  If there is no room go around the block and park in the court house parking lot.

What To Bring

Camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, and seasonal jacket and layers. You are welcome to bring food and drinks on board — please pack it in then pack it out.
